LaVAUGHN M. FLETCHER, age 92, of Rushmore, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington. She was born June 23, 1928, in Worthington, to Martin and Doris (Schaefer) Pinz. She graduated from Worthington High School.
LaVaughn married Clarence Fletcher on November 28, 1948, in Brewster. The couple moved to the family farm southwest of Rushmore. They farmed there until moving into Rushmore in 1996.
She was a past member of the Little Rock Township Country School Board. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and canning.
LaVaughn is survived by her five children, Richard (Cathy) Fletcher, Streamwood, IL; Terry (Pam) Fletcher, Worthington; Paul (Deb) Fletcher, Bigelow; Dana Fletcher, Worthington; and David Fletcher, Alpena, SD; eight grandchildren, Matt (Stephany) Fletcher, Melissa Fletcher, Andrew (Brooke) Fletcher, Casey Fletcher, Eric Fletcher, Chris Fletcher, Heather (Stanley) Wright and Jasmine Fletcher; two step grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence on January 29, 1997; granddaughter, Tamara Metteer in 2019; and a brother, Martin Pinz.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
