LARRY MICHAEL LANG, age 66, of Worthington, passed to his heavenly Father on Monday, November 9, 2020, at the Crossroad Care Center in Worthington. He was born September 15, 1954, at the Worthington Memorial Hospital, to Michael and Olive (Anton) Lang. Larry went to Central Grade School and the Worthington Junior High where he was a member of the Junior High Honor Society. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1972, played the piano for ensembles, trombone in the band and cello in the orchestra. He later attended Worthington Junior College.
As a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Worthington, he played the reed organ for church services. Larry was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce. As a youngster growing up, Larry played basketball, baseball and football. He enjoyed cooking, playing the trombone, golfing, watching movies, and listening to music. He followed in his father’s business, Michael’s Steakhouse, faithfully for years in every capacity plus manager. He later took over the business in Worthington and other towns & establishments. The Ringmaster, a movie about Larry's onion rings and the disease, Alzheimer’s, won rave reviews worldwide. Now you can see it on a number of movie channels.
Larry is survived by his sister, Linda Lang, Worthington; brother-in-law, Greg Johnston, Miles City, MT; eight cousins, Doug (Marcia) Anton, Jerome Anton, Sylvia Christians, Bob Munson, Charles Lang, Rosemary (James) Schissel, Connie (Paul) Steffen and Jim (Gerri) Lang.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; a sister, Michelle Johnston; cousins, Roger Anton, Donald (Joan) Bixby; and a cousin-in-law, Harlan Christians.
Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at the Solid Rock Assembly Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastors Scott Peterson, Karla Kirkeby and Steve Swenson. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
