Maralyn Ann (Merkel) Schnaible

   MARALYN ANN (MERKEL) SCHNAIBLE, age 83, of Adrian, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington.  She was born in Edmunds County on December 27, 1939, to the parents of Ernest and Lola Thomas Merkel.  Maralyn graduated high school from Bowdle, SD in l955.  After graduation, Maralyn married the love of her life, Dean Schnaible in 1957, and they had three children.  She worked at the hospital in Aberdeen SD while Dean attended college.  After his graduation, they moved to several school districts, where Dean taught & coached and eventually settled in Adrian, MN.  Maralyn worked as a paraprofessional at Adrian Elementary School in the library, until her retirement.  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, crafts, walking, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, along with happy hours with friends.

   Maralyn was a member of American Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN for many years.

   Dean and Maralyn have three children, Kim Schnaible of Littleton, CO., Tammy Schnaible, Sioux Falls, SD, and Blaine (Deb) Schnaible of Marshall, MN, six grandchildren, Aaron Torrez, Mason Schnaible, Bryanna (Ben) Geary, Mia Schnaible, Shanna (Jeff) Davis and Jada (Aaron Swartz) Wolf as well as two great grandchildren Brek and Collins Davis.

   Survivors include her husband, Dean, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and sister Bonnie Buechler of Bella Vista Arkansas.

   Maralyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerae and sister Joyce.  

   A memorial service will take place at a later date at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian.
