MARC STEPHEN BECKER, age 64, of Worthington, died Friday, November 12, 2021, at the Sanford USC Medical Center, in Sioux Falls, SD after a battle with Cancer with Covid complications. As Marc stated, he was ready to meet and proclaim, "Jesus You Are My Lord & Savior" He was born April 17, 1957, in Windom to Paul and Agnes (Schwab) Becker. He graduated from Round Lake High School in 1975.
Marc married Betty Jean Dorn on June 25, 1977 at St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian. The couple lived in Round Lake briefly before moving to Mankato. In 1991 they moved to Worthington. Marc owned & operated his own metal fabrication shop in Round Lake. He worked in the metal fabrication industry for over forty-five years. Marc also enjoyed teaching others his skills at Minnesota West Community College.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. He loved his bride of 44 years and together they enjoyed many hours riding motorcycle. One of his greatest blessings was his grandchildren. He was an empathetic, compassionate man who loved to make people laugh.
Marc is survived by his wife, Betty Becker, Worthington; three children, Jesse (Assatta) Becker, Plymouth; Bruce (Hannah) Becker, Bloomington; and Jill (Nicholaus) Jay, Cottonwood; eight grandchildren, Paxton, Payton, Brooks, Kassandra, Giavanna, Blaise, Jeremiah and Maximilian; mother, Agnes Becker, Worthington and four siblings, Cheryl Becker, Spirit Lake, IA; Andre’ (Rich) Peters, Wenatchee, WA; Tami (Pete) Peterson, Pueblo, CO; and Shane (Julie) Becker, Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; and his in-laws, Pete & Marie Dorn.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm with Parish Prayers at 7 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in
Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan. Burial will be 3 pm Wednesday in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
