Margaret M. (Wolters) Berning

   MARGARET MARY BERNING, age 97, of Worthington, died Thursday, June 29 2023 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born March 1, 1936 in Adrian to Jake and Martha (DeLong) Wolters. She attended school in Adrian.
   Margaret married Virgil Berning on September 8, 1962, at St Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. After retiring they moved to Worthington. 
   She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing cards, and baking wonderful cookies.
   Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marie Berning, Worthington; two sisters, Viola Gerdes, Worthington, and Mildred Horkey of Windom; and several nieces and nephews.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil in October of 2002, and a brother, Clarence Wolters.

   Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, July 6 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial will be at 1pm Friday at the St. Adrian Cemetery.
