Marlene Tuin Obituary

   MARLENE TUIN, age 69, of Worthington, died Friday, April 3, 2020, at her home. She was born October 9, 1950, in Slayton, to George and Wilhelmina (Saathoff) Munkel. She attended Worthington Elementary School; and graduated from Worthington High School.

   Marlene married Don Tuin on September 12, 1970, at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. The couple lived in Worthington before they moved to Adrian. In 1993, they moved back to Worthington. Marlene worked at Campbell’s Soup Company before she began working at Swift in Worthington. She later worked at Golden Plump in Luverne.

   She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. She enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, weekend get-aways and vacations in the Black Hills, SD.

   Marlene is survived by her three children, Kelly Tuin, Worthington; Jodi (Shawn) Petersen, Lakefield; and Jason (fiancée, Leslie) Tuin, Bigelow; four grandchildren, Hope Shade, Layton Petersen, Bryli Petersen and Zoe Tuin; three brothers, William (Geri) Munkel, Sioux Falls, SD; Edwin (Julie) Munkel, Rushmore; Robert (Rosella) Munkel, Worthington; and many nieces & nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Don on December 28, 2005.

   Visitation will be open to the public from 4-6 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. A private family committal service will be 11 am Friday at the Worthington Cemetery officiated by Pastor Steve Olson. A memorial service will be at the American Lutheran Church, in Worthington, at a later date.
