Marvin Lonneman Obituary

   MARVIN FRANK LONNEMAN, age 101, of Worthington, died Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. He was born March 28, 1921, in Adrian, to Frank and Elizabeth (Hemming) Lonneman. Marv attended country school near Wilmont. 

  Marv served his country in the United States Army during WWII. After returning from the war, Marv married Everly Hendel on October 7, 1947, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. The couple farmed near Wilmont before moving to the third generation farm near Wilmont. In 1984, they moved to Alexandria. They moved back to Worthington in 1990.

   He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington; the Elevator Board and the Wilmont VFW. Marv enjoyed fishing with his children especially putting on the bait and taking huge fish off the hook; and the Minnesota Twins & Vikings. He also enjoyed woodworking and helping his son, Glen with cabinets.

   Marv is survived by his four children, Cheryl (Brad) Anderson, Andover; Jan (James) Kleinsasser, Las Vegas, NV; Glen (Cindy) Lonneman, Worthington; and Greg Lonneman, Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law, Lynette Lonneman, Blaine, MN; eight grandchildren, James Jr., Jenny, Jesse, Jackie, Jamie, Katie, Kim and Rick; nine great-grandchildren, Ellie, Charlotte, Grace, Victoria, Sarah, Grace and Chance; two sisters, Velma (Leland) Zylstra and Elaine Johns; and a brother, Art (Ann) Lonneman.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Everly in 2001; son, Gary Lonneman; an infant great-granddaughter, Emily; sister, Eleanor; brother, Ray; and a brother-in-law, Bud John.

   A time of fellowship will be from 4-7 pm Sunday, June 12, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan & Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial with full military honors provided by the Worthington American Legion & VFW, will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Worthington
