Norbert Scheidt

NORBERT NICHOLAS SCHEIDT, age 96, of Adrian, died Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth. He was born December 7, 1923, in Adrian, to Antone and Frances (Kellen) Scheidt. He attended St. Adrian Catholic School.

Norb married Shirley Jepson on June 2, 1952, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple farmed northeast of Adrian. They later moved to the farm west of Adrian before moving into Adrian in 1960. Norb worked at Campbell’s Soup Co., in Worthington, for over twenty eight years. He retired in 1988.

He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church in Adrian; and the St. Adrian Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Norb is survived by his five children, Kenny (Nancy) Scheidt, Luverne; Keith (April) Scheidt, Worthington; Don Scheidt, Casper, WY; Therese Scheidt, Adrian; and Tom Scheidt, Worthington; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Scheidt, Kristen Scheidt, Kelly Scheidt, Alexa Wozniak, Nathan Fath, Nichole (John) Borrell, Jason (Sherry) Scheidt, Brandon Scheidt, Angela Dodd, Vanessa (Adam) St. Pierre, Austin Mulder and Rachael Christensen; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley on January 30, 2013; daughter, Donna Scheidt on April 24, 2012; two brothers, Jacob and Dominic Scheidt; and a sister, Anna Marie Mensen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St Adrian Catholic Churdh.

   Visitation will be Monday from 9 to 10:30 am with a prayer service officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti at 10:30 am at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Burial will follow at the St. Adrian Cemetery.
