Robert Schnurstein Obituary

   ROBERT JOHN SCHNURSTEIN, age 65, of Worthington, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. He was born March 14, 1956, in Melrose Park, IL, to Victor and Kathleen (Adair) Schnurstein. As a young boy, Bob moved with his family to George, IA. He graduated from George High School and later, NITC in Sheldon, IA.
   Bob married Marlene Wurpts in September of 1979. To this union two children were born, Amanda and Aaron. The couple later divorced.
   Bob married Renee Janssen on November 6, 2004, at the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. They lived in Worthington. Bob worked as a welder at Ag Co. in Jackson. His true passion was producing live bands and working as a DJ. He also enjoyed family & friends, Heavy Metal music and especially his grandchildren.
   Bob is survived by his wife, Renee Schnurstein, Worthington; three siblings, Mike (Susie) Schnurstein, Aurora, CO; Kathy Graack, Sioux Falls, SD; and Geff Dochnahl, George, IA; two children, Amanda Schnurstein, Kanaranzi; and Aaron (Kelly) Schnurstein, Bellevue, NE; five grandchildren, Aric Schnurstein, Kathryn Spoonhour, Adrianna Spoonhour, Becclyn Schnurstein and Keegan Schnurstein; two step children, Jason Appel, Fulda; and Lindsay Appel, Hills; five step grandchildren, MaKaylee Kluesner, Victoria McKelvey, Caleb, Aiden & Kole Appel.
   He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step son, Michael Appel.

   A time of fellowship will be Sunday from 2-4 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington. A memorial service will be 4 pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Nancy Manning. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
