Starla Marie Blue Arm–Santis, age, 35, Sibley IA, died Tuesday, August 18, 2020. She was born in Sioux Falls, SD on August 6, 1985, to David McCloskey and Coral Hernandez (Blue Arm).
Starla moved to Worthington in 1994 and attended Worthington high school where she lived a happy life growing up with family and friends. She then moved to Sibley, IA and met her husband, Cesar. They married and had a baby boy, Shylo in 2009. Shylo was considered a miracle, because the Doctor said she would never be able to have children. In 2010, Starla became very sick and found out she had lupus. After battling with lupus, we received the terrible news that she was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Although she was extremely weak, Starla fought on until the end.
Starla loved everyone, especially children, and would go out of her way to help anyone in need whenever she was given the opportunity to help. She loved her makeup, purses, music, dressing up, and managed to turn all of her nieces into divas. Her nephews and nieces were her life and her son was her heart.
Starla is survived by her husband, Cesar Santis (Sibley, IA); son, Shylo Santis (Sibley, IA); mother, Coral Blue Arm-Hernandez (Sibley, IA); and David McCloskey (Sioux Falls, SD); and brothers, Sirjio Blue Arm (Sibley, IA), Stephanie Blue Arm (Jackson), David McCoskey Jr. (Sibley, IA), Savyur McCoskey (Sioux Falls, SD); and Kenneth McCoskey (Sioux Falls, SD).
Starla is preceded in death by her Grandmothers, Sandra High Bear-Blue Arm (Eagle Butte, SD) and Lois McCloskey (Rapid City, SD); and Nephew, C.J. High.
The family would like to invite everyone to Chautauqua Park for a luncheon.
A time of fellowship will be Monday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. A memorial service will be 1 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Galen Smith.
