THOMAS DEAN KROHN, age 69, of Worthington, MN passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Country View Manor Nursing Home in Sibley, IA. He was born on December 29, 1953, in Worthington, MN to Duane and Nadine (Gerber) Krohn. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1972; and later from Alexandria Vo-Tech in Farm Equipment Mechanics.
Tom married Jane Brunner on December 27, 1980, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington. The couple were blessed with two sons Benjamin and Nicholas, both of whom Tom was very proud of. Tom farmed south of Worthington near Lake Ocheda, first with his father Duane, and then his son Ben. Farming was Tom’s one true passion.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington. In recent years, Tom made a special connection with Pastor John Nau. He truly enjoyed their conversations together. Tom served on the Nobles County Park Board, the Bigelow Township Board, the Saddle Back Raceway Board, and was a member of Nobles County Pheasants Forever and the Worthington Elks. Tom loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, snowmobiling, playing cards, and spending time with his many good friends. Tom’s favorite hour of the day was Happy Hour!
Tom is survived by his wife, Jane Krohn, Worthington; two sons, Ben (Stephanie) Krohn, Worthington; and Nick (Wendy) Krohn, Bend, OR; two grandchildren, Will and Ashtyn Krohn; three brothers, Mike (Mary) Krohn, Marshfield, WI; Dave (Wendy) Krohn, Torch Lake, MI; and Lou (Lesley) Krohn, Rowena, SD; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of fellowship will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, September 21 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington, MN. A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 22 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington, MN officiated by Pastor John Nau. Burial will take place at a later date.
