Thomas Wallace Obituary

THOMAS FRANCIS WALLACE, 82, of Worthington, passed unexpectedly Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1937, in Worthington, to Francis and Josephine (Ullrich) Wallace. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1955. Tom joined the Army and served two years, during which time he was a medic. Following his Honorable discharge from the military, he continued on the family farm in Lorain Township.

Tom married Patricia Graf on February 18, 1960, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. The couple farmed in Lorain Township, east of Worthington, where they raised seven children.

He belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served as a Lorain Township Treasurer for several years. Faith and family were very important to Tom.

Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia "Chief" Wallace, rural Worthington; son, Paul (Kellee) Wallace, Hinckley, MN, & their children, Lori, Thomas, Eric (Brittany) Ashmore and Adam Ashmore; son, Gregory (Cindy) Wallace, Worthington, MN, & their children, April and Adam; daughter, Christine (Robert) Hurley, Worthington, MN, & their children, McKenzie (Turner) Hagen and Shawn; daughter, Joan (Vic Heinrichs) Wallace, Sibley, IA, & their child, Nathaniel; daughter, Deborah (Jeff) Ernst, Sibley, IA, & their children, Trisha (Tim) Tigert and Samantha; son, Francis (Emmy) Wallace, Lake Elmo, MN, & their children, Jordan and Sydney; daughter, Annette (Kevin Denny) Wallace, Rochester, MN, & their child, Adrienne; and two great-grandchildren, Brecken and Theodora.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Katie; and four siblings, Marie (Don) Homan, Rose (Paul) Chott, William Wallace, and Joann (Charles) Bartosh.

   Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, with a rosary and prayer service at 4:15 pm. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan and Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.
