Travis Duane Boltjes, age 38, of Duluth, formally of Adrian, died April 21, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Duluth Minnesota from complications of a stroke. He was born April 24, 1982, the son of Duane and Rita (Wieneke) Boltjes. He was baptized into the Roman Catholic faith on May 16, 1982. He received his education at Magnolia Elementary and Adrian Public school, a member of the class of 2000, he participated in football, baseball, track and choir. In 2003 Travis moved to Duluth where he worked various jobs, most recently as a member of the ‘Beef Cake Security Squad’ and Nordic auction service. Travis enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially his Sunday night ritual of hosting a bonfire with friends, he enjoyed listening to country music, wood working projects and attending auctions in search of that perfect item, everything had value; whether sentimental or something to be repurposed, he had a vision for his purchases. Travis was a giving person,he was only a phone call or text away. He had donated his hair to Locks of Love and his giving personality continued as he gave life and hope to those in need as an organ donor.
Grateful for sharing in his life were Aliceann Rilea; children, Brandon, Taylor and Violet Boltjes; parents, Duane & Rita Boltjes; and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
On April 21st, Travis was welcomed into his heavenly home by sisters, Jessica and Sarah; paternal grandparents, Herman and Marge Boltjes; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Frances Wieneke; uncles, LeRoy Wieneke, Don Boltjes and Gary Boomgaarden; aunt, Sharon Boltjes; and cousins, Nick Henning and Joe O’Neill.
In lieu of flowers donations to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Association are preferred.
Funeral Mass will be 2 pm Saturday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
