LLOYD MERLE JENSEN, age 58, of Worthington, died Friday, December, 25, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was born, August 17, 1951. Lloyd lived with his parents, Herluf and Mabel Jensen on a farm south of Fulda. He was baptized and attended Sunday school at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda. He also attended Fulda Public School and graduated in 1970. In 1955 he was joined by a sister, Marie Elaine and five years later a sister, Sharyl Ann. All three children helped with the farming and chores. Lloyd attended a course in automotive mechanics at the Jackson Vocational School. Lloyd married Cindy Bettin in Jackson, MN. From that union, a daughter, Bridget was born and two years later, a son, Matthew. The family moved to Price, Utah, where he was employed operating a backhoe. Later the family moved to Ramona, California, where Lloyd?s asthma and allergies were relieved somewhat. In 1986, his wife and children returned to Minnesota. Lloyd remained in California and worked at various jobs and later working in Las Vegas and Greeley, Colorado. In 1993, he was nearly killed in a trench cave in, which left him partially disabled. Working various jobs, as his body would allow, he returned to Brewster, Minnesota. Having been experimenting with medications and illegal drugs, it finally led him to confinement and treatment. Upon release on probation, he returned to Worthington. Lloyd became active in NA and in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he had been confirmed. After one and a half years of freedom from dependency and declining health, he slipped back to dependency and confinement. Much of the past year was spent in hospitals, with the final twenty days in St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul. Lloyd was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington. Lloyd had an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle, fishing and art. Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Bridget (Todd) Edwards, Jackson, MN; and their children, Brandon and Samantha; son, Matthew Jensen, Jackson, MN; parents, Herluf and Mabel Jensen, Worthington, MN; sister, Marie (Charles) Goebel, Stillwater, MN; sister, Sharyl (Greg) Zeno, Rosemount, MN; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
