BERNICE FERN PEDERSEN, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at the South Shore Care Center, Worthington, surrounded by her family. Born August 9, 1910 on a farm near Bagley, MN, she was the daughter of Mattias and Celia (Andersen) Krall. She married Alfred E. Pedersen on June 4, 1930 in Pipestone, MN. She attended the Ruthton Public Schools, graduating in 1928, and continued her education at Minneapolis Business College. She worked as a dental assistant in Ruthton for two years before their marriage. Following marriage, they lived in Los Angeles, CA for two years, and then moved back to Ruthton where her husband was in partnership with his brother-in-law, Ed Krall, owning and operating the Ruthton John Deere Implement Company. She was the bookkeeper there until 1954. After retirement, they enjoyed several winters in Arizona. Bernice was a member of the Danish Lutheran and Aetna Lutheran Churches in Ruthton, where she was active in women?s groups and church functions, and also the American Legion Auxiliary. Bernice moved to Worthington following her husband?s death in 1959, and she continued to spend her winters in Mesa, Arizona for the next 30 years. Bernice enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards, making jewelry, sewing, traveling, fishing and dancing. Bernice was also a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and she especially loved to share memories with her three grandchildren and five great granddaughters. Surviving is her daughter, Roberta (Fritz) Korthals, Worthington; three grandchildren, Brian (Lorraine) Korthals, Worthington; Lisa (Paul) Schutte, Rushmore; and Kim Korthals, Lenexa, KS; and five great-granddaughters, Sarah and Marin Korthals, Erin, Amy and Erika Schutte. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred, two brothers, Edwin and Richard Krall, a twin brother who died at birth, and one sister, May (Krall) Hansen. Blessed Be Her Memory.
